I saw Kenji Lopes-Alt's video on the TicTok feta and cherry tomato pasta, so I'm going to try that later this week.

I had a baguette going stale so tonight was French bread pizza. It’ll be lunch tomorrow as well.

today I heard somebody describe cryptocurrencies as "Scientology for Amway enthusiasts" and damn if that ain't the most accurate assessment I've heard thus far

Realization: Blockchain tech isn't actually decentralized. It's so staggeringly wastefully inefficient that it can't run on less than millions of machines, but the result is still a monobloc of data outside of individual users' control.

Tonight’s dinner: a grain pilaf, sausages from a local butcher, and beans with wilted spinach.

eInk browser appliance for Gemini?

Gemini is a text and link only hypertext protocol.

Crypto has gone from grift to outright theft of the commons.

The devil can take the crypto idiots.

Per Drew's ask, I have some fake money which was given to people with Keybase accounts. This created a large number of creepy men to make passes at me and others.

i think a lot of the attitude of americans toward the concept of the state can be explained by the fact that the US state has retracted itself so far that its only remaining function is brutalizing people who ask for better

App stores have trained people to consider apps to be legitimate ("if it were sketchy then Apple/Google would ban it, right?") while the apps are sketchy as hell.

I can’t use ES6 string interpolation in this code base. Nooooooooooooo!

Just got turned on to this, and oh my gosh am I excited:

It's a collection of fonts, themes, keyboards and caps you can use to code while being cute as hell. (Fantasque Sans Mono even has liiiigatures!)

The horror of the Jenner-Kanye effect.

Tonight’s dinner was a chickpea and potato curry with coconut milk, red onion, shallots, and chilies.

The shutdown of one chinese coal mine stopped around a third of all #bitcoin mining.

Can we now find the other two coal mines, plz?

Boosts appreciated.
I'm close to moving back to Windows. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to hold oneself back, deny oneself better and easier accessibility in the name of open source, when many open source developers don't give a crap about accessibility, and/or don't educate themselves on it. KDE connect, GSConnect, all were inaccessible for one reason or another, not the least because of Gnome-shell's terrible accessibility issues. That was just the last straw. With the only thing holding me to Linux being Emacs+Emacspeak, I think its time to quit Linux and just use what actually works. It's interesting how being "free" just means being under the power and whim of other people, a mass of developers who have no insentive for accessibility, rather than a cohesive company who does. This is serious, and I want every developer to understand this, understand my deep frustration with FOSS.

Could you all share my GoFundMe? My dog lost all use of her legs last night and I'm having to carry her outside with a lift strap. (she's 60lbs) I need to get a wheelchair, x-ray to make sure nothing bad has happened, etc.

you ever think about how excel has done more to bring programming to J. Random User than anything else in the modern age
